A Chair Affair

To a valet, no man is a hero…Goethe

This valet chair IS the hero.

Salvaged from a good friend who didn’t know what to do with it, this 1920s chair was given some tender loving care to bring its practical design into this century.

In its time, our valet’s owner would have removed the change from his pocket and dropped it on the specially-designed tray. He then removed his jacket and pants and carefully placed them on the hanger and rack on the chair back. He could now sit on the seat to remove his shoes and socks.

And voila, he is now ready for his bathrobe and glass of port.

This is our entry for the ‘Chair Affair’, a charity event benefiting United Way of Milford and the PFC Charitable Fund, hosted by Pilgrim Furniture City.

The event will auction one-of-a-kind funky and functional chairs designed by local artisans.

This Sunday, April 25, 2010 6:30-9:30 p.m. at
